Dr. Chafic Akhras
is the Founder and Chairman of Arab Finance Corporation sal.
Dr. Akhras has served as an Economic Advisor at the Presidency of the United Arab
Republic, an advisor to the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development and as a
Chief and Member of the Industrial Policy & Financing Section at the UNIDO in Vienna.
Dr. Akhras was also the Chairman of Omeyad Bank in Syria and the General Manager of
Bank Al Mashrek in Lebanon. Dr. Akhras has taught financial economy and banking at
the University of Damascus. Dr. Chafic Akhras holds a Ph.D. in economics and a degree
in law from the University of Paris – Sorbonne.
Dr. Akhras is a graduate of the Institut d’Etudes Politiques in Paris.
Mr. Sami Akhras
is vice chairman and general manager of AFC Lebanon.
During his ten years with the company, Mr. Akhras has been responsible for developing
the strategic initiatives and setting up the organizational structure that have
enabled AFC to gain a strong position in its sector in Lebanon. Prior to joining
the company, Mr. Akhras held several positions in reputable financial institutions
in France, most notably in the equity derivatives department of Ferri SA, a leading
French financial firm. Mr. Akhras holds a masters degree from the Institut Supérieur
de Gestion (ISG) in Paris.
Dr. Saeb Jaroudi
is a senior international economic consultant and a longtime member of the board of
directors of AFC Lebanon. He has served as Minister of National Economy and Tourism
in Lebanon and has held other key positions regionally and internationally. Founder
and chairman of the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, he also initiated
the establishment of the Arab Monetary Fund and the Arab Authority for Agricultural
Investment and Development. For his contributions to the economic advancement of
developing countries, Dr. Jaroudi was elected to the United Nations Development Planning
Committee.

Mr. Nabil Zeineddin
is a managing director and partner at Electro Industries, Jeddah, KSA, a diversified
industrial group enjoying a leading position in the Saudi market for several of its
core services. A member of the company since 1982, Mr. Zeineddin has been one of the
driving forces behind its growing success. Prior to joining Electro Industries,
Mr. Zeineddin held various positions with Citibank in the KSA. Mr. Zeineddin holds a
bachelor degree in electrical engineering from the American University of Beirut and
an MSc from the University of Southern California.
Mr. Nabil Ghorra
is the general manager of Uniceramic sal, a leading ceramic tiles manufacturer in Lebanon.
In this capacity, he has overseen the growth of the company and introduced various initiatives
which helped it achieve a strong position in the domestic and regional markets. Mr. Ghorra
holds a bachelor degree in mechanical engineering from Temple University as well as a master’s
degree in manufacturing engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
Dr. Nabil Sukkar
is the Founder and Managing Director of The Syrian Consulting Bureau For Development &
Investment, a private consulting firm with deep knowledge of the Syrian economy, markets
and regulatory framework. Dr. Nabil Sukkar is also a director of AFC Lebanon. A former senior
economist at the World Bank in Washington, where he worked on countries in West Africa, South
Asia and the Middle-East, Dr. Sukkar holds a Ph.D. in economics from Indiana University.
Mr. Tarek El-Ahdab
is a director of AFC Lebanon and the manager in charge of financial markets activities.
In this capacity, he has played an instrumental role in the management of the company,
having setup its operational and risk management procedures and participated in the design
of its internal systems and overall product offerings. Prior to joining AFC in 1997,
Mr. El-Ahdab was a foreign exchange options trader at Banque Indosuez in Paris. Mr. El-Ahdab
holds an MBA from Columbia University in New York.
